ContenidoYa is an independent publication about personal finance and financial analysis. We started it because most people searching for an answer about a credit card, a loan or an index fund do not need a sales pitch. They need someone to show them how the product works, what it costs and what happens if things go wrong.

Everything on this site is written in plain English and structured so that you can find the specific paragraph you came for. Our guides use worked examples with real numbers, comparison tables and clearly labelled assumptions, so you can follow the reasoning rather than take our word for it.

Our mission is simple: make financial education genuinely useful for people who are not financial professionals. That means explaining the trade-offs behind every option instead of declaring a winner, and being explicit about the situations where a product is a poor fit.

The longer-term vision is a reference library that people return to at different life stages - the first credit card, the first index fund, the first mortgage conversation, the first spreadsheet built to understand a business. Each guide should still make sense years after it was written because it explains principles rather than promotions.

Our editorial team combines newsroom experience with a background in markets, credit and data. Between them they have edited consumer finance desks, built valuation models, and spent years testing whether an explanation actually lands with a reader who has no finance training.

Every writer is named on their work, and each author page lists the guides they wrote so you can see the depth of their coverage before you trust it.

We deliberately avoid predictions, hot tips and product rankings driven by commercial relationships. When we mention a category of product, we describe how it is structured and what to check, not which brand to buy.

Each article is planned around a real reader question, drafted by a named author, and checked against primary sources such as regulators, central banks, statistical agencies and standard-setting bodies. Every guide ends with a reference list so you can follow the trail yourself.

We correct errors openly and update guides when rules, rates or common practice change. We never present an estimate as a certainty, and any worked example is labelled as illustrative.
